Abstract: I argue in this presentation that if a sentence φ from Lω1ω is categorical, then the first-order theory Tφ that corresponds to φ is categorical if and only if its models satisfy the ω-rule, inferentially understood. This result will be established by first showing that if all the models of Peano Arithmetic in the ω-logic, i.e. PAω, have the property expressed by the ω-rule, then PAω  is categorical. The presentation is based on joint work with John T. Baldwin.
